doubleo (762), San Diego, California, USA Mar 18, 2008 On-tap at BP Linda Vista. Pours an orange yellow color with a fluffy off-white head. Smells light and fruity hoppy like a lighter single IPA with more of a malty backbone. The taste is super fruity hoppy, sweet citrus, with a lingering malt profile. Grapefruit, orange, and then smooth and grassy bitter on the finish. Medium, bitter body with vibrant carbonation. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 14, 2008 on tap-pours a thin white head and gold color. Aroma is citrus grapefruit/lemon hops. OK carbonation. wetherel (1012), Carlsbad, California, USA Oct 12, 2007 Tasted from tap at Churchill’s with Ivan, Tim, Aaron, and Dave. Pretty interesting to hear about an IPL, instead of the usual IPA. Wow, nice hoppy aroma. Surprizing. Fat thick head. Pale color. Creamy microbubble head. Nice level of hop bitterness. papajohn (990), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Mar 27, 2008 Updated: Mar 28, 2008On tap@the new Scripps Ranch Brewery: Golden amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is lemony citrus. Flavor starts light sweet citrus (grapefruit, lemon and orange) followed by a medium citrus bitterness and a medium dry, lightly grassy finish. Medium body is tangy with lively carbonation. Lager my ass, this is a damn good IPA (made with lager yeast I guess). cbkschubert (1573), Skyline, Arizona, USA Oct 4, 2007 On tap @ Ballast Point (Linda Vista) - Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is big citrus hops. Flavor has a good bit of hops up front with a smooth malt/grain finish. Light to medium body. I really like this one. Almost bought a growler fill of it, but went with the Dorado instead. *Sigh* A must try when available.
