At the HomeBrew Mart. Pours clearish amber with a moderate sized white head, spider web lace. Smells light citrusy and sweet hoppy with a ginger twang. Tastes bright and citrusy with big ginger, almost piney type flavors. Very tasty, didn’t think I’d like this one but I do. Medium body, good carbonation.

Sample @ Home Brew Mart. Pours a mostly clear deep gold with an orange glow. Interesting nose of ginger and floral hops. A very cool twist on the Big Eye, i likey.

Sample, old rating. Poured an orange, caramel color with a small off white head. Aroma of ginger, citrus, orange and flowery perfume. Flavor was a bit odd. Ginger with alot of citrus and grapefruit. Some perfuminess. Just does not completely work for me.

On cask at Pizza Port real ale festival. Thank God I was able to get the very last pour of this, it’s just to bad my foam was like half the glass and I had to kill time to let it retreat some. Anyways, I loved this big eye with ginger since I’m already an avid lover of the big eye by itself. Add some ginger let alone double ginger and you can immediately sniff out this additional spice in the mix. The flavor was a lot of bread, wheat, grapefruit and of course ginger. Interesting ale and I would like to see this available for a growler fill.

Tasted at the real ale fest. Clear copper with a fizzy white head. Citrus hops and mild ginger aroma. Bitter citrus and mild pine taste with ginger notes.

Tap @ Hamilton’s on 4/18/08. Shared with Bikesandbeer, WeeObese, Darkelf, and my girlfriend Cyn. Pours copper with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is big and hoppy with some serious ginger. Taste is sweet and hoppy with lots of ginger, really really nice beer. I like ginger and it makes big eye into a whole different kind of fish (er beer).
