JorisPPattyn (4246), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 24, 2008 Deep red-copper beer with a rosy head. Brett & cherry nose, quite fruity and some slightly coloured malts. Very, very tart kriek, with a good lurch of alcohol, wood, and, after all, malt. Slick, fruit-filled and slight acidburn. Very attractive sour ale. For my fellow Belgians: "Hout" is pronounced "hoet" in California, as every West-Flemish would have guessed, which is why he speaks of "choet".
WeeHeavySD (1539), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 4, 2008 Tap 5th beer of PP Belgian Fest 08. This was awesome to find on tap at the fest. Pours red with a bright white ring. Huge sour cherry nose. Taste is cherry and tart as shit. Big yummy taste, very nicely soured with an odd nutty finish. As requested, to remind my drunken friend (Bartzilla liked this a lot too he gives it a 4).
