Kinz (1902), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jul 4, 2008 Pale yellow, slight head fades quickly, appropriately hazed. Aroma is lightly of grainy wheat and some dusty coriander. Flavor is a match, with the coriander spice note being the biggest player other than the light wheat notes. Did not pick up on the citrus characteristics at all unfortunately. A mildly refreshing beer, but nothing exciting here.
mgumby10 (1642), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Aug 31, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Pours a lightly hazy straw gold, with a small white head. Smells of light bubblegum and banana wheat characters. Mild citrus presence. The flavor was also more on the banana and wheat flavors side, with not much of a citrus balance here. Just an average American version of a Belgian style. Not too bad, and certainly drinkable, but similar to many others Ive had in this style. hopscotch (4485), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2008 Draft… RBSG ‘08… Hazy, straw-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is subtle, but displays spicy and grainy notes with a suggestion of citrus. Light-bodied and watery with tingly carbonation. Mostly nondescript flavor. Thin, watery finish. JMFG (1140), Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 On tap @ brewery, RBSG. Light murky straw color with a thin, short-lived off-white head. Lots of orange peel and chalky grain, hint of yeast on the nose. Slightly fruity sweetness, some spice, light grassy finish. vyvvy (1689), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 15, 2008 It looks like I got a much better bottle of this that most. Pours hazy light yellow with a smallish white head. The aroma has richness or wheat, dry orange / lemon zest with a hint of coriander. Medium body that is smoother than most wits with carbonation that has sharp and soft traits ~ it’s prickly, but gentle and spreads the flavor well. The flavor starts with wheat and light spice from the coriander along with some phenolic spice and citrus. The finish has a bit more spice and citrus. A good wit. DA (2425), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 13, 2008 RBSG 2008, on tap at the brewery. Hazy gold body with a thin white head. Citrus floral nose, soft clove in the spiciness and coriander. Moderate wheat flavor to the body, with a crisp dry finish.
