Commercial Description:
A lager beer produced using pale barley malt, rice and exclusive varieties of hops which give this beer variety its inimitable aroma, very light and velvety flavor and pleasant bitterness of hops. The addition of rice provides No2 Pale with a surprisingly fresh taste and smoothness, and for these reasons it is easy to drink.
The ingredients are water, pale barley malt, select rice and hops.
Produced since 2004. 11°

Bottled. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is malts, very sweet grass and some hops. Flavour is sweet malts, rubber and some earth. Quite grainy aftertaste.

Bottled as "Pale"
Golden color, small white head. Light buttery hoppy aroma. Sweet malty, some papery notes - maybe from rice. Not hopeless, but plain.

500ml bottle (HBF2008)
Rich yellow, small head. Fairly pleasant bready aroma. Soft carbonation, reasonably full body. Taste is simple and bready, and an OK twist of hops too. Alas there was the occasional vegetal tinge which spoilt it a little. Mostly fairly drinkable for a pale lager, one of Baltika’s better ones - dare I say I actually enjoyed it!

0.5 l green bottle brought from Russian shop in Graz. Poured pale yellow body with medium white head. Fine aroma, mostly lemony hopped with some grass hints. Flavor is also OK, slightly bitter with sweetish, malty notes, but still watery. Some vegetable notes could be felt from time to time, but nothing too bad. Nice bittersweet finish, but again short and watery. Pretty boring, but nothing wrong with this pale lager.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with heavy (thanks!)
Poured a pale yellow-golden colour with a medium sized thick white head that went away fast. Somewhat skunky. Dusty hopiness and lemon in the nose. The taste was ok. Some peachy maltiness, light lemony hop. Not offensive, not the worst beer ever, just quite empty.

Golden blond coloured beer with some light carbonation and a rather small white head. Hoppy, light grainy sweet aroma. Medium palate. Finish is sweet, light bitter, malty with a rather dry ending. Not bad.

From 500 ml bottle this looks and tastes like Bud. Clear yellow, rice nose, no head, no lacing. Mouthfeel light and flavors mild. Not a lot to get your attention here.

50cl bottle. Nice pour, golden brown colour with a medium white, foamy head. Slightly sweet and citrus aroma. Very thin flavour, just a little grain and lemon.
