Starchy aroma and a mellower-than-Heineken "green bottle" character of grassy/corny malt. Actually grew on me the more I drank. 184601 (144), Mexicali, Mexico

Pours a clear golden color with a one finger thick white head. Fine, light carbonation. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is grain, herbal hops and light skunk. I actually like it. Flavor is a mild grain and grassy hops. This beer is actually not half bad. Light to medium body. This beer is half way decent. Looking forward to try the rest (3 - 9). | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 19, 2006 From a 1pt. 9oz. green bottle with a gold foil wrapped neck and a best before date on the back label, 04.04.06. Made a good appearance, poured a
clear pale lager golden with a large foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, moderate carbonation overall.
Had a clean grassy hop nose with a faint pale grainy maltiness. A smooth, lightly crisp light bodied mouth feel,
slightly above average drinkability. Grassy, mellowly bitter hoppy taste with a balancing lightly crisp crackerish
grainy maltiness and a grassy and semi-dry sweet malty finish.
Not great, not awful, just middle of the road, what you expect from Baltika, a decent, drinkable and affordable pale lager. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
