Roasted malts nose. Aroma is the same. Flavour is the same with some coffee. Finish is a bit watery otherwise ok. sticky and bitter mouthfeel. KyotoLefty (1370), Kyoto, Japan Oct 20, 2009 Bottle.
Good white head on a dark brown beer. Strong caramel aroma, slightly sweet. Sweet flavor with a background of caramel and burnt malt. Could use a little more hops. It is a decent dark beer, a dunkel-type lager, I would guess. Not too different from the Austrian dunkels. Decent tasting, medium heavy body, pretty nice, though could be stronger in flavor. wwwdottom (21), Breese, Illinois, USA Oct 19, 2009 Pours a very dark amber - caramel and malty aroma - sweet on the palate - I enjoyed this beer but it is nothing extraordinary Ryan82SM (229), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 16, 2009 Aroma of bread, caramel and chocolate. Appearance was brown-red with creamy head that was ever present. Flavor of sweet caramel, chocolate and brown sugar. Palate was creamy. Rather good. mcberko (122), British Columbia, Canada Oct 14, 2009 500mL bottle - pours a pale yellow. Mouthful is quite thin and moderately flavoured, but refreshing. Sweet malt, bread and light hops. Good beer. BeerChaser0078 (283), Melbourne, Australia Oct 13, 2009 Bottle. Looks good with a reddish copper pour and a creamy beige head that lasts well but unfortunately its not all good news about this beer. The aroma is mainly of sweet malt and caramel and the flavour is pretty much the same but with what tastes like an additional heaping of sugar. Mouthfeel manages to be both thin and sticky at the same time. Quite light for a dunkel, this beer is drinkable but you want to be in the mood for something sweet. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2009 pours amber, golden head.
Aroma is grainy with a barnyard/rye nose and caramel.
Flavor, bready malty, plenty of dark sugar and light dark fruits. Hint so hops, but overall profile remains strong in caramel and rye.
Tasty!
