Hazy dark amber body with a frothy tan head. Sweet molassas aroma. Sweet molassas flavor with some light grain in the end.

16.9oz bottle-pours a big foamy tan head and deep red color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-some sweet. Taste is medium/dark malt-some sweet, caramel, medium fruit, some hops bite, faint anise/chocolate. OK carbonation.

Bottle - from Plaza Liquors - Pours a hazy deep amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is malt and stale bread. Flavor is lightly sweetened grain and caramel malt. Light bitterness. A smooth, medium body beer. Worth a try.

16.9 oz bottle, best by 010407 - another old beer. Apparently these gems are not exactly flying off the shelves. Anyway, pours a muddy copper with a beige head. Big, sweet caramel and brown sugar nose, a bit of fruitiness and some mild bread. Simple caramel toffee flavors, some light breadiness - OMG, this does not TOTALLY suck - I’m kinda shocked. Body like thin syrup. Light coffee notes creep in at the end, fairly dry finish. A solidly mediocre beer, which, for Baltika, is a complement.

beer poured a red brown in color with a tall head that quickly diminished. smell is of grains, malts, and some light caramel. taste is mid range on the mouth feel, has some malts, and something sweet (perhaps the maltose syrup)? not a terrible beer, not too heavy, somewhat bland.

Expiration date: 08 July 07 so I was about a month late. It poured a decent caramel-brown with a creamy tan head that faded momentarily. I could sense a bit of caramel in the aroma but the flavor wasn’t particularly sweet. Medium mouth feel. It did not have that overbearing aroma/flavor of alcohol like other Russian brews I have sampled. It was better than most of those.

Decent beer. Pours amber with a small off white head. Notes of caramel and vanilla. Maybe some raisins.

Best before 01.04.07. Red amber with a soft head. Spiced prune aroma. Tasty light warm spice. Dark beer tastes like a winter warmer. Hint of rubber or cardboard.
