| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 27, 2007 16.9 oz bottle, best by 010407 - another old beer. Apparently these gems are not exactly flying off the shelves. Anyway, pours a muddy copper with a beige head. Big, sweet caramel and brown sugar nose, a bit of fruitiness and some mild bread. Simple caramel toffee flavors, some light breadiness - OMG, this does not TOTALLY suck - I’m kinda shocked. Body like thin syrup. Light coffee notes creep in at the end, fairly dry finish. A solidly mediocre beer, which, for Baltika, is a complement. blklab2007 (967), Connecticut, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2007 beer poured a red brown in color with a tall head that quickly diminished. smell is of grains, malts, and some light caramel. taste is mid range on the mouth feel, has some malts, and something sweet (perhaps the maltose syrup)? not a terrible beer, not too heavy, somewhat bland. puboflyons (607), New Hampshire, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Expiration date: 08 July 07 so I was about a month late. It poured a decent caramel-brown with a creamy tan head that faded momentarily. I could sense a bit of caramel in the aroma but the flavor wasn’t particularly sweet. Medium mouth feel. It did not have that overbearing aroma/flavor of alcohol like other Russian brews I have sampled. It was better than most of those. Acknud (781), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
