Sweet yeasty aroma, caramel even some light grainy-madeira touch? Medium sweet body, some sprankling. Finish is sweet, very light bitter, caramel and again a very light hint of madeira, ending a little more wattery. Overall not bad. kwoeltje (1322), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 24, 2006 Nice ruby-red hue. Big rock candy in the nose; some banana as well. Malts were toasty, toffee-ish and chocolaty. Bitterness was too mild. Sweetness built and became a bit much (syrupy). Not bad up front, but it seemed to "blandify" toward the finish. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Beer pours a hazy medium amber-brown color with a small, frothy, white, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma is moderately malty with notes of toasted grain, cookie and caramel, heavy notes of molasses; hoppy with light notes of herbs; yeasty with a light notes of raisin, tea and a trace of peach. The flavor was moderately bittersweet and lightly acidic with a short, lightly tangy finish. Lots of molasses retros. The body was light, the texture was watery and the carbonation was lively. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Aroma is molasses, heavy oxidation. Color is a light red brown, small brown head. Flavor is also oxidized. Very bitter. Lots of licorice in there. Finish is clean but somewhat tasteless. I think this one was old. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Had this beer when I was in Kyrgyzstan. Pours a nice dark brown color. Aromas of caramel malt and grains. Smells like it has more than 6% alcohol. Flavor has a nice sweet, caramel malt flavor and finishes with an almost peanut brittle like taste. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Honey brown in color with a steely malt aroma. Pours medium nectar weight with medium froth and ample residual effers. Flavors are just a tad darker than pale lagers with a slight biscuity character. No detectable skunkiness. Finishes crisp with a dessicated caramel note. Overall; a tasty brew indeed.
