This is one of those beers with a unique taste I run into every so often. Has a very distinct sweetness to it. I’d try it again, and it is well priced.

Pours deep amber/brown into a shaker. Offwhite head with medium retention leaves no lacing. Nasty, sour caramel aromas and flavors. Russian.

Labeled ’’Baltika 4 Dark Lager’’, same color scheme. Am I seeing this right? This is only a 2.98 here? This is actually a great beer! Surprising since it was only $2.29 for a pint at my corner store. Rich caramel taste along with honey, malt, maple, decent hops, and brown sugar. The flavor is excellent, and it rates high in less-tangible aspects as well. A huge surprise here. Highly underrated in my opinion. Thanks Baltika.

[Bottle] Pours clear ruby brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, somewhat sweet, and some lager yeast. Flavor matches aroma, slightly sharp, and caramelly.

Bottle with plain label and red foil on the neck. Handsome brown pour, and a good malty, floral aroma. The flavor is close to that of a brown ale - chewy and malty, with some brown sugar, and followed by a light wave of astringency and refreshing bitterness. There is a hint of coca cola in there too. Baltika 4 makes me think of fields of grain rolling off toward the steppes. One of the better Russian brews.

Sweet nutty malt aroma. Hazy light brown color with a small white head. Sweet light apple malt that fades slowly in the finish.

(Bottle). Slightly sweet carboardish aroma. Garnet body, light tan head. Taste is sweet caramel malt, with little character or distinction. Pretty unremarkable brew.
