Has a very distinct sweetness to it. I’d try it again, and it is well priced. thornecb (1816), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2008 Updated: Jul 29, 2009Labeled ’’Baltika 4 Dark Lager’’, same color scheme. Am I seeing this right? This is only a 2.98 here? This is actually a great beer! Surprising since it was only $2.29 for a pint at my corner store. Rich caramel taste along with honey, malt, maple, decent hops, and brown sugar. The flavor is excellent, and it rates high in less-tangible aspects as well. A huge surprise here. Highly underrated in my opinion. Thanks Baltika. MatSciGuy (641), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2008 [Bottle] Pours clear ruby brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, somewhat sweet, and some lager yeast. Flavor matches aroma, slightly sharp, and caramelly. Slipstream (789), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Updated: Sep 1, 2009Bottle with plain label and red foil on the neck. Handsome brown pour, and a good malty, floral aroma. The flavor is close to that of a brown ale - chewy and malty, with some brown sugar, and followed by a light wave of astringency and refreshing bitterness. There is a hint of coca cola in there too. Baltika 4 makes me think of fields of grain rolling off toward the steppes. One of the better Russian brews. rocbyter (927), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
