desurfer (1039), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA May 16, 2008 Pours a clear copper with a large beige head. Aroma of caramel and doughy malts. Flavor is thin and sweet with a dominating caramel flavor; some rye breadiness in there as well. Not much in the way of hoppiness. Pretty tasty and easy drinking.
DrDavid (348), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 9, 2008 (Bottle). Slightly sweet carboardish aroma. Garnet body, light tan head. Taste is sweet caramel malt, with little character or distinction. Pretty unremarkable brew. liinis (479), Finland Oct 2, 2008 dark, with a beige head. sweet syrup and caramel. something artificial and unpleasat in flavor and aroma, but OK smooth medium bodied beer. Snojerk321 (1017), San Diego, California, USA Sep 28, 2008 Bottle. Nice dark pour with a very thin head. Nose is very, very sweet. Taste-notes of honey, caramel, light fruits, peaty, and raisin. Actually, this is very nice. Slight bitter finish. jcdsmack (46), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 25, 2008 This is a nice dark lager it’s a good example of the style it’s full mof flavor but it still has a nice crispness to it. It is similar in taste and appearance to Becks Dark. I often think the rye malt gives it a bite that reminds me a little of worcestershire sauce. Baltika’s best. larsga (2311), Oslo, Norway Sep 19, 2008 Small offwhite head. Amber body. Fruity roasty sugary aroma with caramelly notes. Dryish straw and caramel taste with sugary roasty malt notes. Dryish roasty straw and raisin aftertaste. Not bad. (0.1l taster from bottle at EBF ’08, thanks to Ole_R.)
