Commercial Description:
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

500 ml bottle from Jonathan Ron in Brielle. Pours a clear deep dark brown with only a small lacing of mocha colored head which leaves no lacing what-so-ever. Aroma is super sweet malts with onlt slight roastiness and loads of sweetness, sort of like Hershey syrup lite, nutts, slight grains. Medium bodied with the syrupyness only coming out as this brew really warms up. Flavor is similiar to the aroma with a lot of swetness and less roastiness and a slight alcohol touch. Good stuff especially considering the $1.75 price for 500 ml.

Baltika 6 Porter is a very dark red ale that borders on black. It has a dense, mocha colored head that thins out but stays and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is dark, roasty and sweet. There is a strong note of licorice. It is medium-full bodied, smooth and slick. The finish is a little sticky. It tastes sweet and roasty like the aroma. There are notes of caramel, chocolate-covered cherries and licorice. I like that this isn’t as sweet as some other Baltic porters. It’s balanced more toward a roasty bitterness. It’s a great example of the style. This is the best Russian beer I’ve had yet.

Dark brown, thick foam brown cream head. Smells of chocolate and slightly metallic. Smooth, thick, creamy milk taste but somehow still refreshing and highly drinkable. Good porter.

A porternek aposztrofált serital Guinness-szerűen fekete, meglehetősen tartós habja tejeskávéra emlékeztetően barna, illata határozottan pörkölt-malátás, telt. Íze további meglepetés: telt, markánsan keserű, kávés, talán némi kis csokoládés felhanggal. Utóíze kellemesen hosszan cseng le, tartósan megmaradó keserű komponensek nélkül. Meglepetés e ser nekem, de kellemes.

500 ml bottle. From Estonia. Dark brown almost black colour. Aroma has hints of mushroom. Nice. And there is nothing wrong with the flavour. Good Russian porter.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Light chocolate aroma with a some roasted malt. Coffee notes as well. Hint of vanilla too. Nice smooth taste. Mix of vanilla and a hint of chocolate. Actually, much better then I expected.

Old Rating: 7/5/7/4/14 Black opaque liquid, with beatiful brown head, aroma of plums coffee amd malt with high levels of sweetness, flavors of smoked malt with notes of tobacco, caramelized sugars and a bit of bitterness in the aftertaste, a great surprise.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown, close to black body with a small beige head. Aroma is light roasted malt, dry fruit and coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, dry fruit and a sweet alcoholic warming. Rather nice.
