Moderate roasted malts, grassy hops and doughy yeast aromas up front with ruby port and vanilla in the background. Large, light brown, rocky head with great lacing that hung around for the whole glass, color is black in poor lighting. Flavor starts and finishes moderately sweet. Medium bodied, creamy texture with lively carbonation and a slight metallic finish. A flavorful beer with some really nice aromas.

Sweet taste with dark fruit and caramel malt with a little anise. This is a surprisingly good beer! BeerGestapo (738), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of molasses, caramel, figs, and malts. Now the taste is much of the same but with some chocolate notes. The mouthfeel is kind of spritzy and finished on the dry side. Pretty good porter !! kflorence (93), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Bottle, pours black with dissipating tan head. Smells of roasted malts, dark fruits, caramel, alcohol and slight metallic tinge. The taste reminds me of an imperial stout (albeit, a much lighter version) with its dark fruit and licorice flavor up front.
Mouthfeel is smooth and rather light for a beer this dark; the beer has good carbonation and isn’t all that sticky. It finishes with a strong flavor of roasted malts, molasses and dark fruits. There is definitely a slight alcohol kick in the final notes.
The lingering flavor seems to be a mix of dark fruits, caramel, alcohol and licorice. Pretty decent brew for my first baltic porter. I could’ve used a bit more malt presence, but overall pretty tasty. Gypsy19 (617), California, USA

Has some characteristics of an imperial stout, yet not quite as hoppy as said impy. Very creamy with a strong dark fruit presence and strong, lingering tar about the mouth. Not overly complex, but strong characters are present nevertheless. Not world-class, but very good. SODAK14 (106), Rapid City, South Dakota, USA

Pours really dark with a decent head. Taste is smooth and not with the sometimes bitter after taste of (to me) most dark beers. This might be my favorite darkie.
