punkrkr27 (608), Berkley, Michigan, USA May 13, 2008 Deep black pour with ruddy brown highlights and a frothy tan head. Dark chocolate aroma with a slight roast note, a touch of alcohol and some coffee as it warms. Lots of chocolate flavor and brown sugar. Flavor has some hints of alcohol, pepper, and a slight bit of esters. Medium-full body. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2008 .5L bottle best before 8/20/08. pours a very dark opaque brown with a thin tan head. aroma of caramel and biscuit. tastes of roasted malts and a bit of chocolate. very smooth and silky feeling, though it leaves a thick feeling at the base of your throat. way too drinkable to be 7% abv. a nicely drinkable beer though it is lacking a bit in complexity. blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Malty aroma, lightly roasted with just a hint of caramel. Medium body. Flavor is a bit sweet with caramel and brown sugar. Not bad. papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA May 8, 2008 1 pint .9 oz bottle from BevMo: Very dark brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma is malty sweet with hints of coffee. Flavor has a cola like start with a light smokeyness followed by some milk chocolate and a light spicey bitterness in the finsh. Medium body is smooth with moderate carbonation. Wulfstan (509), California, USA May 8, 2008 This is a nice, smooth, very drinkable Baltic porter. It’s almost black with a medium light brown head that steadily dissipates to a foamy ring and wisps. The roma is very nice, molasses, chocolate, prunes, toast. It’s full but smooth and leaning lightly to the sweet side, faintly winey. The taste is nice, rather as above, mostly spicey with chocolate, molasses, and some fruit. It’s smooth and light despite the full taste and feel. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy May 2, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep black with a tan color head. The aroma is roasted malts and caramel. The taste is smokey and yet sweet and calky almost closer to a stout in my mind, but this was my first baltic porter. carruthm (1111), Seattle, Washington, USA May 2, 2008 pours thick black with a deep brown head with some airy retention. smell is of chocolate and caramel. Light taste of bitters, caramel, smoke and cocoa. Airy body. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA May 1, 2008 I finally found this damn thing in Huntington. Well worth the search.
