Commercial Description:
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Pours a deep opaque brown, medium sized head. Aroma is toasted malts, with a bit of sweetness. Taste is burned malts, with a big sweet aftertaste. Definitely an after dinner beer.

My first baltic porter. Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a medium sized tan head that quickly turns into a think ring around the glass. Nose is caramel, and toast. Tastes like chocolate caramel, bread, and malt. Actually a pretty good beer. A nice change up as opposed to a totally roasted tasting porter.

Pours nearly black with a largish tan head. Kinda an odd porter, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something was just a bit weird about it. Still a good solid brew, though.

black colour with light brown head, whitch disapears quickly. Aroma and flavor of sweet roasted malt. A little bit overroasted in the finnish with bitterness.

April 2006 - Wow...I was really liking this. Beer poured dark, dark brown with red highlights, large head with decent lacing. Aroma was odd...didn’t smell like a porter at all. Smelled rather like a hoppy amber or something along those lines. Flavor didn’t match smell (thankfully). Wonderfully smooth chocolatey taste with some molasses mixed in...perfect amount of sweetness. It reminded of a good glass of chocolate milk. Excellent.

Bottle. Very dark brown to nearly black with frothy off-white head. Aroma of dark malts and dark fruit with a bit of sweetness. Flavor of dark roasted malt, black cherries and raisins with that same sweetness. Good mouthfeel. Not too heavy and clean. I liked this a lot.

Dark brew topped by a nice foamy head, small bubbling and good retention. Smells of licorice, raisin, chocolate and some wood. Flavoris more on the sweet side. Creamy texture, body is lighter than an imperial stout without being thin; makes it easy to drink. My personal reference in terms of baltic porters, a very good after-dinner drink.
