PaulsPissed (32), Dublin, Ireland Sep 22, 2009 smells a bit like copper or is that just me. looks lovely biggest surprise from this beer is that for such a high alcohol content its very well balanced a massive burst of flavors which doesnt stay in the mouth a lovely roasted sweet aftertaste. i dont agree that its weak but for such a strong kick at the start the subtle aftertaste is a bit wierd. strong tastes of coffee, chocolate and alcohol an excellent porter to be had with respect very easy to drink yet keeps itself interesting. Fratto (662), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 19, 2009 Burnt chocolate and maybe a little fruit? Not bad, but fairly weak flavor for a porter. DubC5000 (195), San Diego, California, USA Sep 17, 2009 Barely transparent, just light enough to let a ray of light through. Intense maltiness and smoke on the nose. Deep chocolate character in the flavor, along with residual sweetness and alcohol, with a long, anise finish. My first beer in the style but I’m already impressed with the depth of flavor. keidjxz (41), Irvine, California, USA Sep 2, 2009 Deep dark red-brown with a small short lived tan head. Malty aroma which was some what sweet. Smokey coffee taste with a definite sugar aspect that come together as a good porter. drjay44 (756), Salida, Colorado, USA Sep 1, 2009 500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin mocha head, with some lacing, over a dark, slightly reddish (SRM 36) clear body....nose is coffee, chocolate, molasses....taste is sweet malts caramel, toffee, then molasses, finishing with slight roasted bitterness....mouth feel is light and a bit watery, carbonation is medium. This is somewhat lighter in aroma and flavors than expected, and the mouth feel is a little light. ha1ag (415), Maastricht, Netherlands Aug 31, 2009 Bottled from Aachen, Russian "magazin" Very dark brown, almost black color, solid tan brown head. Aroma has roasted m,alts, some sweetness. Flavour is like coffee with lots of roasted malts.Very fine ! fishonmyplane (124), Newington, Connecticut, USA Aug 29, 2009 A classic Baltic Porter. Extremely well-balanced with a variety of sweet and malty flavors. Not too much bite from the alcohol. Incredibly, this is available for around $1.50 - $2/bottle. The other Baltika brews generally leave something to be desired... but #6 never lets me down. HughConway (364), Alabama, USA Aug 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with minimal head. Sweat malt aroma. Carmel malt on the tongue, smooth finish.
