Beaver (587), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Sep 10, 2007 16.9 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a frothy brown head that quickly dissipates to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is sweet chocolate malts with a little bit of smoke and tar.
The flavor is sweet lactic chocolate with some dark fruits, smoke and a little coffee with a roasted bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, a nice surprise. This is a well done porter.
oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium Sep 6, 2007 Found it in a shop in Yokohama near the Convention Center in the World Porters. About 40 different belgium beers and 6 or 7 russians. Bought only 1 of those. Very tastfull BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Sep 6, 2007 Updated: Jun 28, 2009stuff is relatively inexpenisive right here in new york city. i have drank a ton of this and never thouoght it to be that good. i mean good enough to drink a lot of but... as commercially described and pretty decent. SOUPY AROMA of vegetable, and taste and finish of charcoal and tar. good palate w/regard to carbonation and good appearance. slight burnt choco taste. deep brown appearance and good mouthfeel. somewhat creamy...good. just had one and it was fruity with cherry and deep. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 6, 2007 In tallahassee you can buy this stuff extremly cheap so i never thought much of it. finally i decided to give it a try and found it a nice surprise. defiantly the best alcohol at its prive tier. anyway warm malt some roast produces a sweet thick taste on the tongue. some chocolate, does well to make this beer taste non alcoholic. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Sep 3, 2007 bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a dark brown color with a one and a half finger thick light tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt and faint chocolate. Flavor is lightly sweetened caramel malt and light chocolate. Palate is only slightly bitter and a little thin. This beer was a little better than I expected. Worth a try. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 03/18/2007

Icommonsewer (122), TUCSON, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2007 Updated: Sep 18, 2007this porter is the best of all the porters we tested from the former Soviet Union countries... rich, smooth, chocolaty and not as syrupy sweet as some of the others from those countries weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2007 Picked up for $2.29 at Surf Beverage in Murrells Inlet, SC.
Appears a dark brown with auburn toned edges when held to the light. A 2 finger, tan head slowly fades into a foamy clump of bubbles. Scattered rings of marshmallow-like protein sticks along the glass.
Smell is of caramel, cocoa, raisins, vanilla, nougat, cashews, and cool cucumber.
Taste is of teh same aromas with smooth caramel, vanilla, cocoa, and cashews resonating. Pretty nice stuff.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, smooth, cocoa-like, airy, and fluffy during the finish.
Did I have a different beer than most others that reviewed this? I thought it was well done and it was a bargain.
