Commercial Description:
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Pours a very dark black/brown colour with a minimal tan head. The head was rather fizzy; soda-like even, and did not last long at all. Given the very fizzy pour, the beer itself had surprisingly little carbonation. Quite a chocolate malty aroma/taste; a bit more than what I normally like. Moderate bitterness. Alcohol flavour was more noticeable than I was expecting, but I suppose it is 7 per cent. I did like the bottle/labelling and price. Overall, worth a try, but doubt I will have it again.

Nice beer! Interesting sort of holiday spice aromas. Poured with a nice light tan head and plenty of lace. Opaque. A little bittersweet at first and then a pleasant long sweet finish. Soft mouth. A shade roasty. LIke I said, nice beer. Had this bottle at the Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse Wisconsin USA.

Bottle. Pours almost jet black. Off white head fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Chocolate, malt and a hint of dried dark fruit on the nose. Palate is firm with decent carbonation. Roasted malt, oats, figs and raisins, earthy malbec grapes, and dry hops and yeast... I’m a bit surprised. I didn’t expect the flavor complexity. Nice offering.

Bottle, from Butik Moskva, Cph. Dark hazel brown with a bubbly caramel brown head that fizzes along, but still takes some time to diminish. There is a little lacing. Aroma is a little sweet, dried fruits and a little chocolate. Quite crisp carbonation, quite lively - needs to warm up a bit for me. Flavour is filled with roasted malts, chocolate, raisins, a small viniousness and a well-rounded mild bitterness.

slightly opaque black red with full fluffy brown head that has bad retention. smells of light raisins with light chocolate. very slick bodied with medium crisp carbonation. lots of flavor, tastes of chocolate raisins, cream, molasses, with a little alcohol in the aftertaste. medium bitterness

High brown creamy and lasting head. Very dark red almost black body. Weak berries malt aroma. Coffee cocoa caramel flavor. A bit thin but quite refreshing. Low carbonation Short aftertaste.

Pours a very dark brown with a dark tan/light brown head that soon dissappears to a mere brown lacing. Very artificial cocoa aroma. Flavor also pretty weak overall, tastes more like a brown ale than a porter. Definitely the type of beer I usually go for, but I really can’t recommend it over others of its class.

It has an ample brownish head which stays around a little while. The beer is an opaque, brown-black. The aroma is subtle, even a bit weak. The flavor has some nice toasty darkness to it, but I also think it slightly watery.
