Poured with a nice light tan head and plenty of lace. Opaque. A little bittersweet at first and then a pleasant long sweet finish. Soft mouth. A shade roasty. LIke I said, nice beer. Had this bottle at the Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse Wisconsin USA. tytoanderso (1385), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Bottle. Pours almost jet black. Off white head fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Chocolate, malt and a hint of dried dark fruit on the nose. Palate is firm with decent carbonation. Roasted malt, oats, figs and raisins, earthy malbec grapes, and dry hops and yeast... I’m a bit surprised. I didn’t expect the flavor complexity. Nice offering. thewolf (5722), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2007 Updated: Jul 19, 2007Bottle, from Butik Moskva, Cph. Dark hazel brown with a bubbly caramel brown head that fizzes along, but still takes some time to diminish. There is a little lacing. Aroma is a little sweet, dried fruits and a little chocolate. Quite crisp carbonation, quite lively - needs to warm up a bit for me. Flavour is filled with roasted malts, chocolate, raisins, a small viniousness and a well-rounded mild bitterness. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2007 Pours a very dark brown with a dark tan/light brown head that soon dissappears to a mere brown lacing. Very artificial cocoa aroma. Flavor also pretty weak overall, tastes more like a brown ale than a porter. Definitely the type of beer I usually go for, but I really can’t recommend it over others of its class. FastEddie (178), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2007 It has an ample brownish head which stays around a little while. The beer is an opaque, brown-black. The aroma is subtle, even a bit weak. The flavor has some nice toasty darkness to it, but I also think it slightly watery. MelbBrewersJD (32), Australia
