Magnificent beer. Best of the porters we had at our Melbourne Brewers tasting.

Bottle. Black pour with thin white fizzy head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Sweet malty chocolate taste and sweet finish. Not much elses going on with this one, a fairly one dimensional beer.

bottle 04.04.06. pours black...dry malt, molasses and vanilla aromas. flavor is super rich and creamy, almost milk stout like. big molasses flavor and a strangely pleasing rye bread sourness. it has a nice bitterness and nutty/woody aftertastes. don’t know if the sour is the secret ingredient or if the bottle is skunked. i’ll have to drink more and conduct some tests back at the lab...

Many thanks to Gary, Old Faithful for picking these up in Louisville. True to its porter/imperial stoutish roots, this pours a dark colour with a mocha head. It has above average carbonation and a drop of sourness, all superceded by great balance. There is mocha and fruit in the nose. A medium mouthfeel. A chocolate finish.

Robe noire surmontée d’une mousse beige crémeuse en dentelle qui s’estompe. Arômes de levures, de pain et de malt noir. Saveurs de café, de levures, de céréales, de caramel et d’alcool. Texture crémeuse.

Rated 8/11/06: Been looking for this one for a while now so when I came across one I quickly grabbed it. Deep dark ruby pour with a thick tan head and some nice lacing. The aroma is very malty with a good sweetness to it. Great smokey flavor with a nice roasted quality. Licorice, coffee, and a touch of chocolate complete a tasty brew. Mouthfeel could be a touch thicker but it works. Overall a good porter.

Strong dark amlt aroma. Very dark amber color with a tan/brown head. Smooth malt flavor with hints of caramel. Alcohol slightly noticable. Finishes with some bitterness. Very creamy mouth feel. this is a great beer for the price.

Blind tasting with Tranquility. 500ml bottle. Tight creamy and dark head, stays for ever. Aroma chocolatey. (On another bottle, I got gravy - meat and yeast.) Tastes like a hefty stout, some alcohol due to the 7%, full maltiness, not oppressingly burnt. As it gets warmer, there will be even bacon in the taste! Well rounded, make this the last 2 beers of the evening...
