ealdent (44), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jan 9, 2007 Fairly weak head, faded quickly. Very malty body with clean finish and a smooth, semi-sweet and chocolately flavor. Not bitter enough. Didn’t impress me much. foduck (304), Denton, Texas, USA Jan 9, 2007 Pretty damn good porter.. although it’s my first Baltic porter so I don’t have much experience with the style. Nice roasted flavor and body. Big brown head. Could drink a few of these.. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jan 4, 2007 Nice head and color, and the aroma has notes of chocolate. The flavour is quite full, sweet and slightly sour. It lack som power and bite and I would like more character, but I think it would be OK with desert and cake. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada Dec 31, 2006 Updated: Feb 24, 2007Bought this at Topper’s in Montana and who knows how old it was. Pg 36 MJ’s GBG only 483 Classic Brews to go. My first russian beer at a little bad surprise. I had expectations, but at first it looked good, but the aroma was too sweet. Then the flavor went to sweet licorice and with at thin body with medium bitterness . Not good for a porter.
breichow (17), USA Dec 20, 2006 Bottle. Tulip glass. Thick head and good mouth feel. Very dark. Good aroma, roasted flavors. Lingering. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA Dec 16, 2006 This was a good porter, but I tend to favor this style anyways. Very dark with roasty flavors, this was a good choice! BrandonB (87), Denton, Texas, USA Dec 8, 2006 Bottle. Deep near black pour with a decent light tan head that dies down, but lasts a little while. Decent lacing. Fruits, chocolate and roasty flavors. Finish is decent, maybe a little weak for a porter. Cheap enough, would drink again.
