| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Bottle shared with blankboy, jerc and tupalev at the hotel after the MBG Summer Festival - my bottle. Deep chocolate brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark sugar, coffee. Body is a bit thin. Flavour follows the aroma pretty closely, and finishes with a smoky bitterness that I quite liked. Pretty nice stuff. D (538), Poland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Great porter - slightly less heavy and rich than most Polish ones I tried but still awesome. Sophisticated flavour with coffee, malt and wine notes; big, thick brown head over almost completely opaque body. Drinks very well as far as porters go, leaving the typical bitterness in finish. Splendid; no wonder it’s Russia’s highest rated beer. illinismitty (1795), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Bottle. Wow, I bought this here in Nashville...beer desert of the south. Pours black with a thick diminishing off white head. Sweet aroma of toasted malt, yeast esters, and dark fruit. A european like aroma. Medium mouthfeel and slightly thin texture. The flavor is of mild coffee and caramel nicely balanced by some herbal hops. Slightly dry, bitter finish with a pleasant liquier like alcohol bite. Much better than I expected. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Hmm, my first Baltic Porter. Bottle. Aroma of brown sugar and dark malt, vague background sweetness, perhaps a memory of toastmalt. And a touch of alcohol. Coal black with a medium-dark brown head. Chewy with and earthy with strong molasses and roast and treacle and brown sugar, dry with medium bitterness and a little (good) ash. Alcohol gives good structure here, but the body will never be characterized as anything thicker than medium. Crisp, almost spicy. Roasty taste reminds me more of an abbey ale than a porter, just a little harsher and thinner. Medium bitterness. Roast malt, dark chocolate, coffee is imagined but still part of the profile, raisin. Seems to have been reasonable well balanced. Quite dry molasses finish. Not bad, wouldn’t want to finish the whole bottle, though. DinkingDutch (10), Netherlands

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Updated: Jul 28, 2006a black beer with a medium sized creamy tan head. weak roasted aroma with more of a lager scent with some alcohol. flavor is dry and bitter with some roasted coffee notes. body and flavor are light. some alcohol shows up in the finish. o.k. but I prefer the sweeter more robust versions. rybowen (105), Los Angeles 90039, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Excellent, rich brew. Color is amazing, and as others have noted the flavors are caramelly, rich, roasted with no hop aroma and little flavor IHCNavistar (93), Orinda, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Bottle. Aroma is very yeasty and somewhat malty. Taste is very sweet. Coffee / toffee, yeast, and malt heavily dominate the taste, with hops being pretty much nonexistant. Carbonation is satisfactory. I’m definitely not a fan of porters, so this was a bit hard to rate. Not something that I would buy again, but then again I’m not a porter fan.
