Commercial Description:
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

Bottle. Aroma is very yeasty and somewhat malty. Taste is very sweet. Coffee / toffee, yeast, and malt heavily dominate the taste, with hops being pretty much nonexistant. Carbonation is satisfactory. I’m definitely not a fan of porters, so this was a bit hard to rate. Not something that I would buy again, but then again I’m not a porter fan.

500 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown that lets the slightest amount of light through. The head is two fingers in height with a long retention time due to the active carbonation. Aroma is all malt with roasted, burnt, and caramel aspects. A light chalky dryness as well. Flavor is dominated by roast and caramel. There’s alot of dry chalky astringency on the finish with some alcohol as well. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side with an oily texture and moderate soft carbonation. This was pretty decent, and the best of their offerings. Heavy filtration has taken it’s toll on this though at the same time.

Poured pretty dark with a lt brown average head. Aroma was dark malts and a little choclate smoothness. Not to bad, but I would really just like a imp stout over this one, I prefer the roastiness. Had a weird taste on the back of the toungue. I just think porters are not my thing.

Good carbonation. Black as midnight. Nose is clearly a sweet, roasted coffee. Starts smooth, malty and strong coffee flavor, finishes with a little hoppiness and bitterness. A very good porter

Jet black with a big tan head. Huge sweet and malty aroma which is a great thing. Flavour was malty with a mild roast coffee and a long bitter finish. Very pleasant and recommended.

I’ve had many porters from all over and this is pretty decent for the Russians. There not exactly well known i don’t think for there beer as much as there Vodka but this one is pretty good all around.Nice dark color, small dark head that stuck around.Aroma of Dried fruit and malt with a nice roastiness.Flavor was very nice, roasty and malty with a nice sweetness and some touches of fruit and chocolate and a might of coffee maybe.A well done beer.

I feel like if I were in the frozen Tundra and had an injured limb, this is the beer I would want to comfort me. This is a thick slab o ligour spread thinly over resiny and raisony brew. Pleasingly authentic (especially in its looks) if not entirely pleasing -- at least in comparison to the fresher local versions of this type. There is something clearly yet obliquely Russian about this brew that makes it a special treat, though perhaps not tops in its style.

500mL bottle. Deep ruby-brown color with a small dark tan head. Sweet and semi-sweet chocolate aroma, with some alefruit as well. Doughy, slightly raisin character with mild roastiness and old caramel. Residual chalky chocolate and some tangy fruit esters in the finish. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat thick.
