| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 15, 2006 Looked great, but this thing was an oxidized mess. Flavor was vegetably and not really very porter like at all after it warmed... only slight hints of coffee and molasses. Much more pepper (vegetable), rice, slight czech hopping. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 17, 2003 On the poor ebony in color, the head monstrous in size, spumous in texture, the color a light chocolate, after it erodes a thick and glutinous sheet of lace clings mightily to the glass. Mostly malt in the lightly sweet nose, fresh and clean, the start sweet and malt-laden top is skeletal in feel. Finish is mildly carbonated, hops pleasant in their spiciness, very dry, some what tart, and a drinkable beer, but not really anything to scream about. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2002 Raisins, smoke and creosote. Inky. This brew really grows on you as you drink it -- sweetish for a porter, you get a good presentation of raisins/prunes in the flavor. Mild aroma. Good palate, with long clinging patent malt bitter and an acidic/raisiny finish. Jeppe (2638), Řlbutikken, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2004 Sampled from bottle at Danish Beer Festival 2004 (#40). Almost black beer with a tan head. Sweet chocolaty aroma - typical porter. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, milk chocolate and bitter hops. Not very strong but tasty! ChainGangGuy (2619), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a thin, beige head.
Smell: Sweetish aroma of molasses, a bit of roast, and a cup of simple syrup.
Taste: Dark malts with a taste of molasses with a bit more sugar added. Some roastiness. Never much in the way of hops or bitterness. Just a touch of astringency in the lightly roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not the best baltic porter I’ve gulped down, but, for me, it was definitely the best stop on the trip through Baltika Land. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Bottle shared with Jerc, GregClow, and Blankboy after MBG 06, Greg’s bottle. Black, frothy tan head. Nice cola and hop aroma - sweet. Nice taste - good hops, thin body, very sweet. A really nice simple solid Baltic porter. Pailhead (2610), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2004 Bottle: Aroma is mostly chocolate malt and light hops. Has a kind of syrupy smell to it as well. Pours a dark brown, virtually black, with a decent tan head. Fair retention. Strong raisin flavor. More so than chocolate or coffee. In order of intensity, it’s probably raisin, chocolate, burnt, then coffee. Alcohol is slightly noticeable. Light coffee flavor and hops come in the finish. Very light coffee aftertaste. You can do so much better in choosing a porter. This beer seems to get a little better as you drink. 1FastSTi (2591), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 29, 2006 Pours to a deep ruby body with a lasting thick fluffy tan head. The aroma is dusty/yeasty malt. The flavor is dry coffee, tart corny lagering, not exciting nor good. The palate is medium bodied and overly warming, dusty and fizzy feel. I’m not understanding this beer at all. Seems to be a mess.
