Smells and looks great; nice tan head like a stout. This beer also a sting of bitterness to it - also stoutish. But the sweetness is still definitely there. Excellent beer, best Baltika for sure.

A distinct maple syrupy nose. Very dark brown color - nearly black. A light roasted malt taste predominates. The finish is dry. Big rocky head, but not so much body as one would expect. Overall very good.

Aroma has a decent roasted barley noticable. Black body with brown head. A creamy texture along with roasted malt flavor made this a smooth enjoyable beer. Roasty aftertaste on palate, thanks Santa.

Bottle shared with blankboy, jerc and tupalev at the hotel after the MBG Summer Festival - my bottle. Deep chocolate brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark sugar, coffee. Body is a bit thin. Flavour follows the aroma pretty closely, and finishes with a smoky bitterness that I quite liked. Pretty nice stuff.

16.9oz bottle - Pours very dark brown almost black with a tall creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate malts, some roasted nuts and a touch of molasses and brown sugar. Flavor is quite sweet, chocolate, caramel, molassess, some brown sugar. Palate is medium bodied smooth and creamy but very sweet. Some nice roastiness is there too but this was just a little sugary for a baltic porter to me. But for $1.49 a pint not bad at all.

Bomber: Black with a medium tan head. Old chocolate aroma, starts lightly sweet and ends sweet with a lingering fruity taste. If it wasn’t for the 7% it would be a great session beer. At this price it is merely a great way to drink for cheap.

Pours with a thick, creamy two-finger thick brown head that sits atop an opaque black beer. The aroma smells of chocolate, and lightly roasted coffee; overall the aroma is fairly subdued. The taste is sweet and creamy up front with a sharp, slightly acidic, roasted note in the finish. The beer has a medium full body that just starts to coat the mouth. This beer is quite drinkable, smooth and creamy it goes down quite easily. There is a lingering burnt note that sticks around long after the beer has left my mouth; this is not a bad thing though, more like a lingering roast coffee note. This beer is quite tasty, though it not as complex and deeply layered as many other examples of the style.

500 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown that lets the slightest amount of light through. The head is two fingers in height with a long retention time due to the active carbonation. Aroma is all malt with roasted, burnt, and caramel aspects. A light chalky dryness as well. Flavor is dominated by roast and caramel. There’s alot of dry chalky astringency on the finish with some alcohol as well. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side with an oily texture and moderate soft carbonation. This was pretty decent, and the best of their offerings. Heavy filtration has taken it’s toll on this though at the same time.
