Pours with a black body topped by a thick, quickly disappearing head wtih some lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of fruit and an underlying raosty bitterness. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty yet bitter and roasty wtih slight chocolate notes. Medium to full bodied and smooth with a slight tingle.

Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a dark black color porter with a nice foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light roasted malt and chocolate is very pleasant and enjoyable. Taste is nice mix between roasted malt with some bitterness and some semi-sweet chocolate finish. Body is about average with some adequate carbonation. Very nice for the style overall and some thing I wouldn’t mind trying again.

Bottle. Black pour with thin white fizzy head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Sweet malty chocolate taste and sweet finish. Not much elses going on with this one, a fairly one dimensional beer.

(BJCP Class) Wow my First Russian Beer. Strong molasses aroma and taste. The strong Alcohol also was very present. The overall aroma was very reminiscent of a Strong Ale. Lots of fruity esters this was a very good beer. And I hope to share with others this awesome dark Porter from Russia.

Pour is blacksih brown with a nice big tan head...light coffee roasty nutty aroma, but it is quite faint...watery taste...mildly roasty...quite drinkable but most uninteresting overall...I expected more, lord knows the other beers from them I’ve had were not exciting or really even that tasty...

Nice roasted aroma with a little bit of yeast. Frothy, off-white head. Clear and brown. Moderately sweet, heavy bitterness.

Serving: 500 mL bottle (7% ABV). Thanks Matt!
Event: Weekly Friday night tasting.
Location: River’s Bend Wine & Spirits.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Chocolate, cream, and a little smoke.
Appearance: Nearly opaque dark brown color with some ruby red highlights. The head is small, creamy, and dark beige/light brown in color.
Flavor: Rich chocolate and cocoa with some smoked/char and aged dark fruits. Roasty finish. Mellow bitterness (just enough to add balance and depth). Just a touch of alcohol is noticeable in the flavor.
Palate: Smooth and creamy.
Overall: An excellent Baltic Porter at a great price! Quite tasty.

Color is dark as dark can be, beneath a big, bubbly, crackling tan head. Aroma is full of cocoa, nuts, and sweet candyish flavors. Medium body, light in texture, but really tasty, rich, satisfying. The ABV is 7%, but I didn’t feel it in the least. Wait a minute...okay, now I do! Very tasty, and a welcome surprise, an excellent porter, an enjoyable beer!
