| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Bottled. Pours a blackish brown with a diminishing brown head. Aroma is spicy, with a bit of chocolate. The body is medium, creamy with moderate carbonation. The taste is sweet, with roasty malt, prunes, chocolate and nuts leading to a spicy, lightly bitter finish. A surprisingly big beer for a porter. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2006 16.9 oz bottle - Pours black with a two finger head that leaves some lacing. It has a pleasant caramel malt and chocolate aroma. The flavor is of roast caramel malts, a hint of chocolate, and coffee. The body is moderately thick and smooth on the palate. The finish is mildly bitter. The coffee flavor really comes through in the finish. Baltika has made a very tastey porter that I think is underrated here. Recommended. SHIG (2033), Aviano, Italy
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep black with a tan color head. The aroma is roasted malts and caramel. The taste is smokey and yet sweet and calky almost closer to a stout in my mind, but this was my first baltic porter. Indra (2028), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2005 500ml bottle. Aroma is sweet and rich, with notes of molasses, milky chocolate, raisin, vanilla and faint roastiness. Deep brown-black color with an uneven tan head. Flavor is toasty to start and very lightly bitter to start, with a darkly fruity middle reminiscent of prune and licorice and having a big, sweet, dark brown sugary finish. Somewhat thin on the palate, body is medium-full. Interesting enough, in its way. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Such an odd size bottle, 25 0z. No initial memorable aroma but it was something. Very dark in my steeler stein, nearly opaque. But this is nearly opaque brown, not black, how interesting. Initial bitterness made me think I was hitting a foriegn stout. No sweetness detected. Much stronger and more intense than your typical porter. Will not by again. Lasting bitter finish. If I didn’t know better, I would think this is from the makers of Lion Stout. Send this back to the USSR.
