Sweet malty aroma. The flavor is also sweet and malty with some raisin flavors. The body is big but not creamy, more liks a red wine body. The finish is fairly clean with only some lingering sweetness. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

I was only slightly let down by this dark watery porter. Big anice and sweet malts were the main notes overall. There is an odd aftertaste, but it may be the same carboard/grainy hops used in some of the other Baltikas. TheGrandMaster (1862), Auckland, New Zealand
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Bottle, dark brown with a bubbly beige head. A strong roasted aroma, mostly coffee but also sweeter caramal notes. Carbonated and overly tart for me on the palate, but soem roasted malt flavours with a sweeter and hoppy fruit touch. Maybe I have had this a bit warm, as don’t rate it as highly as others.
