| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 19, 2005 Possibly THE best porter that I have ever tried. None of the ashey-ness that I find in 99% of the porters that I try. Lots of good choclate and coffee with a wonderful silky mouthfeel. JensenTaster (1588), Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2004 (on bottle)A sent of rotten bark of ash (the tree) and some roast. Not in a bad way, though. Noce violet/black color and a surprisingly weak taste. This most be the taste of original porter. No coffee, no liqurce and allmost no bitterness; easy drinkalble. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2006 From a 1pt.9oz. narrow neck brown bottle with a short blurb about the porter and a best before date on the back label, 07.06.06. Made a decent
appearance, poured a opaque ruby hued dark coffee brown with a foamy tan head that settled into a thin, skim-
like foamy lacing, moderate to medium carbonation overall. Had sweet fruity/caramel lightly roasted malt nose. A
creamy, smooth light-ish medium bodied mouth feel, above average
drinkability. Watery burnt chocolate and caramel malty with a small dose of sweeten milk taste, a watery hop
bitterness and a sweet, roasted, fruity malty finish.
Like I’ve said about other Baltika
beers, average, drinkable, not awful, at a cheap price and for me, that holds true for this porter. esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 Reddish brown with a slowly diminishing light tan head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts and coffee. Taste of caramel, chocolate, raisons and mild alcohol. Medium body is smooth and creamy but it was a step below some of the better Baltic porters I’ve had recently. hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 28, 2007 bottle 04.04.06. pours black...dry malt, molasses and vanilla aromas. flavor is super rich and creamy, almost milk stout like. big molasses flavor and a strangely pleasing rye bread sourness. it has a nice bitterness and nutty/woody aftertastes. don’t know if the sour is the secret ingredient or if the bottle is skunked. i’ll have to drink more and conduct some tests back at the lab... | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a little bit of a cola head. Aromas sweet and roasted malt with a little bit of a peat and prune as well. This has a nice mix of earth, nuts, toffee and a little bit of dark fruit across the palate. From time to time a bit of iron or something of the sort comes out... which is the biggest knock that I have. Other than that it is considerably less syrupy and cloying than most Baltics I’ve had. This makes it much more enjoyable for my palate. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
