| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2009 500 ml bottle from Jonathan Ron in Brielle. Pours a clear deep dark brown with only a small lacing of mocha colored head which leaves no lacing what-so-ever. Aroma is super sweet malts with onlt slight roastiness and loads of sweetness, sort of like Hershey syrup lite, nutts, slight grains. Medium bodied with the syrupyness only coming out as this brew really warms up. Flavor is similiar to the aroma with a lot of swetness and less roastiness and a slight alcohol touch. Good stuff especially considering the $1.75 price for 500 ml. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2003 Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, body with a thick, creamy brown head. The aroma has the obvious chocolate and coffee notes, but with nice quantities of anise and dark fruit. Ripe cherries, raisins, plums, apples, and a slew of others are immeadiately evident. Very smooth and easy to drink. The flavors are not quite as pleasant as the nose might lead one to think. Chocolate and coffee, some of the fruit, the alcohol is a little harsher than I might like. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be buying this often. GreatLibations (1444), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Mar 22, 2006 Opaque, coffee brown color w/ a "maltine" cracker nose. Smells like malted saltine crackers. Pours full nectar. Minimal froth w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are bright and squeeky clean. Warming flavors of coffee, hay, bread, desiccated cherry, leather with just a touch of sweetness. A silky smooth texture, with a long finish. Very complex and well ballanced. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall; a fantastic specimen. Highly recommended. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark brown black with a tall frothy beige head. Nose is light but malty. With chocolate, dried fruits, and dough. Lightly bitter chocolate is the first flavor with raisins, malt, grain, and molasses. A smooth creaminess balances out the dry bitterness. Decent baltic porter. dchmela (1440), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2008 Pours a deep reddish black with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma is bready and biscuity, very chewy. Taste is completely different, very malty sweet, roasted grains, chocolate, and dark fruit sweetness. Much thicker body than I thought it would be. Finishes with a touch of malty sweetness, fruit. Really nice, but the aroma was my only problem. SamGamgee (1436), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2008 50cl bottle. Black with some lasting tan foam. Sweet molasses, licorice and cocoa aroma. The flavor is sweet and syrupy, with some chocolate and dark bread. A world better that the 9, but still nothing I’d get again. A beer this heavy needs to be a bit more refined to be enjoyable.
