Nov 7, 2006 500 ml bottle. Dark, almost black with a really nice ruby red hue. Head is really small leaving only a thin light brown film. Sourish roasted dark chocolate aroma. Raisins without the sweetness. Acidic malts with a deeply roasted sweet chocolate and caramel impression. Licorice. Mellow smooth texture, but unfortunately a bit thin-bodied.

Jul 11, 2003 brownish balck, beige head. fruit, cady, winy, coffee aroma. very smooth flavour and mouthfeel. finishes with a quick hop burst leading into chocolate and roast.

My first russian beer at a little bad surprise. I had expectations, but at first it looked good, but the aroma was too sweet. Then the flavor went to sweet licorice and with at thin body with medium bitterness . Not good for a porter.

Jul 23, 2003 Bottle: dark brown, with light red-brown edges. . . A creamy chocolate-milk head. Nutty chocolate alcohol aroma with hints of milk, wood and clay. A good amount of creamy alcohol on the tongue. . . A mix of bitter cocoa, almonds and some sweet soft pears finish off a very plesant beer, though not as complex as some other baltic porters.

Jul 2, 2007 Bottle. Pours almost jet black. Off white head fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Chocolate, malt and a hint of dried dark fruit on the nose. Palate is firm with decent carbonation. Roasted malt, oats, figs and raisins, earthy malbec grapes, and dry hops and yeast... I’m a bit surprised. I didn’t expect the flavor complexity. Nice offering.

Apr 15, 2007 Aroma is hoppy and burnt malts.Pours a thick black color with a huge tan pillowy head that thinned out after awhile.Chocolate, caramel, molassess and hops on hte flavor with a small hoppy bitterness.

Apr 5, 2006 Aroma displayed a little malt,a little chocolate and some alcohol, head was well formed, as good as I have seen on a n imported porter. Taste was sweet malt a little fruity ester,hop bitterness doesn’t really show, doesnt taste as alcoholic as it smells,nice easy safe Porter

Feb 14, 2006 From a bottle. Pours a rather attractive black color with a thick and fluffy tan head. Aroma reminds me of artificially sweetened molasses product. Watery start to this beer with a harsh, imitation molasses aftertaste that produces a cringe not unlike my first taste of cough syrup. Looks thick, feels thin. All around nasty.
