Nose is sweet maltiness with some dark chocolate. The flavor adds a bit more complexity with some licorice, caramel and dried fruit. Prune like in a good way. Good sippin’ porter! igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2004 color is a deep deep brown, no light gets through though. head is tan, and bubbly. aroma is fairly roasty, but more smoky. but the smokiness is not overpowering and is quite complementary. chocolate is there, but VERY subdued. flavor is virtually the same, smokiness, mild roast, mild chocolate, light alcohol, bold flavor...damn good if you ask me. ilovedarkbeer (1367), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 31, 2008 My first baltic porter. Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a medium sized tan head that quickly turns into a think ring around the glass. Nose is caramel, and toast. Tastes like chocolate caramel, bread, and malt. Actually a pretty good beer. A nice change up as opposed to a totally roasted tasting porter. Dorqui (1361), Brescia, Italy
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 7, 2005 Creamy foam but not much persistent one. Dark brown color, nearly black. Much dense and impenetrable. Discreet scent, detaches scents of coffee and bitter chocolate. Dry and lightly fizzy taste, much bitter. Burnt wood and smoke are perceived in the end. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2003 I had no prior knowledge on this beer when I picked up the bottle for $1.99 USD at a Jersey liquor store. Very surprised how well this beer was; adequate aroma (licorice), jet black color with ample tannish head, and a great mouthfeel. My tastebuds were well pleased with the dark roasted malt flavor, and hop aftertaste. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 27, 2005 This was the 2nd from this brewery, and, better then the lower numbers. Typical of porters, this was dark, not black. Had mild roasted nose, and decent ABV, with no ABV tasted. This was ok. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Not bad, but after getting the idea that this is THE Baltik porter I just felt way short changed. Thinnish and lacking in the elements I would hope to find - I’ll be getting another bottle for sure and updating this if my opinion changes. kwoeltje (1328), Manchester, Missouri, USA
