Lovely dark chocolate notes, coffee and caramel, creamy amd smooth on the palate. Full bodied and deceivingly powerful. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

Pours a dark brown almost black with an average size tan head. The aroma is of mocha, toffee, band-aid and vanilla. Taste is of fruity esters-plums, cherries, cantelop, nuts as well as some burnt chocolate and caramel malts. Like many Baltics, this reminds me of a good dopplebock. If there is a Baltic porter that is ’the measuring stick’ for the style this is it..or is it? Seems nobody really know..but i think this is close.... Maybe not the tastiest of them all to my tastebuds, but the baraometer perhaps? 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2004 ya know, not all that bad. Had this at the CU beer fest and it was most definately one of the best things being offered. Dark in color with a tan thin head. The nose is soft and malty with a touch of spice. The taste is smoothe and slightly hoppy underneath lots of coffee malts. Good overall, AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2004 Pours pitch black with brown head. Aroma is nice and of roasted carmel malt. This beer is very sweet but I guess that’s the style. Lots of carmel malt in this one. Doesn't taste of burnt malt like most porters... more like toasted malt. What I like a lot about this one is the mouthfeel- nice and round, silky smooth going down... Very little aftertaste though.
