Nov 20, 2006 Nearly black with a medium tan head, this product has a sweet malty aroma with distinct hoppiness. Taste is roasty with bitter cherries. Not bad. $2/16oz

Jun 11, 2008 Deep brown pour with a large beige head. Roasted malts, molasses, milk, a little vanilla, toffee, and I’m pretty sure I picked up some ham as well. I was a little shocked at how one-sided the flavor turned out to be. Very intense molasses, light roasted malts, and some bittersweet cocoa. A bit thin in the mouth. A nice brew but I wish the flavor had the same qualities of the aroma. Still, quote tasty.

Dark brown almost black colour.
Aroma has hints of mushroom. Nice.
And there is nothing wrong with the flavour. Good Russian porter.

May 24, 2004 The first sip is all raisins and garbage. It really mellows after the first sip or so, and some coffee and chocolate come out, but there’s nothing very special here. Sort of reminds me of my first Guinness Foreign Stout.

Jun 4, 2006 500mL bottle. Deep ruby-brown color with a small dark tan head. Sweet and semi-sweet chocolate aroma, with some alefruit as well. Doughy, slightly raisin character with mild roastiness and old caramel. Residual chalky chocolate and some tangy fruit esters in the finish. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat thick.

Feb 27, 2002 Pretty good, but not as good as I expected after enjoying Baltika #3. Not nearly as good as Okocim or Zywiec porters (although they are from a different country, the style is the same.) On the thin side for the type.

Oct 19, 2007 500ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a deep black color with a tan sudsy had that lingered for only a short time. The aroma was moderate in strength with roasted malts and molasses. The flavors present were molasses, coffee, chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Hops were well integrated and barely noticeable. The mouthfeel was full, smooth and creamy. The finish was short and clean with just a bit of alcohol showing through. Overall: this is a very good porter. Recommended.
