It’s gotta be better than the #9 which wasn’t impressive, to say the least. Great ring of lacing here. Appearance gets good marks. Brown sugar aroma. Good flavor. Nice and rich toffee and chocolate. Dessert type quality. A little rough around the edges, which seems to be consistent with Russian beers. However, very enjoyable overall. TaxiDriver (945), Stadland, Germany
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle. Light sweet, mild coffee. Average brown creamy head, mostly lasting, nearly black body. Moderate bitter start, in the middle a little bit sweeter, the aftertaste is again bitter, the taste of chocolate shines through; medium duration on the palate. Medium to full body, dry and creamy texture, soft carbonation. A nice one! jtw (944), farmington, Michigan, USA

Appears a dark brown with auburn toned edges when held to the light. A 2 finger, tan head slowly fades into a foamy clump of bubbles. Scattered rings of marshmallow-like protein sticks along the glass.
Smell is of caramel, cocoa, raisins, vanilla, nougat, cashews, and cool cucumber.
Taste is of teh same aromas with smooth caramel, vanilla, cocoa, and cashews resonating. Pretty nice stuff.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, smooth, cocoa-like, airy, and fluffy during the finish.
Did I have a different beer than most others that reviewed this? I thought it was well done and it was a bargain. fata2683 (931), Panama City, Florida, USA
