I love how Baltika numbers all its beers to make it easier for Russians to know what order to drink them after they get bombed on vodka. Great idea! This one is outstanding. The pour is deep blackish (ruby through light) with a 1-finger tan head. The aroma is huge corn flakey malt and soem cacao powder. One of the maltiest aromas ever, right up there with Fullers LP and Celebrator. The taste is big corn flakey malt up front, with a big palate density and complexity. It tastes like Wheaties dipped in chocolate syrup, although not as sweet. This is one of the betetr porters I’ve yet had, and I’ll be raiding the shelves of this one. Sith Lords and other Dark Side scumbags like me will love this one! ChristianScheffel (4535), Odense, Denmark

Head is initially average to large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain, husks, dark chocolate), with a note of plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Fairly grainy and otherwise crude, but not too bad. Nice appearance and mouthfeel. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Black cherry colored, smallish but strong head. Big sweet malty raisin-port-chocolate-caramel nose, not much roasted character. Huge malt character in the flavor, and some smokiness towards the end. I didn't really find this too sweet, it has enough robustness towards the end to keep it from cloying. Just a touch thicker and a little less wine in the front palate would make this perfect, but it's extremely good as is. Seems almost closer to a doppelbock, but I don't care about style adherence when the beer's this good. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic
