Opaque, coffee brown color w/ a "maltine" cracker nose. Smells like malted saltine crackers. Pours full nectar. Minimal froth w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are bright and squeeky clean. Warming flavors of coffee, hay, bread, desiccated cherry, leather with just a touch of sweetness. A silky smooth texture, with a long finish. Very complex and well ballanced. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall; a fantastic specimen. Highly recommended.

Bottle in Berlin.One of the better porters I had in my life, really dark and beautiful black color, standard malty, caramel and chocolate flavors. I was quite surprised how easy it was to drink this beer, considering the style and the alcohol level.Great!

Color pours dark syrupy brown turning blackish as it levels into the glass, head is a supernatural light brown, much like that of parchment paper, so sad to see it go so fast. Leaves huge sheets of lace, nice. Smell is gorgeous with dark fruits, I detect cherry, melon, star fruit, and for sure bananas, hardly anything else, but who cares, this is awesome, its like a frickin fruit salad, super enchanting and pleasing nose. Tastes like no other I've had, mostly up front of banana and light, sweet roasted malt, very unusual and interestingly yummy. A bit like candied fruits but no sugary stuff, just the fruit, dark and rich. The feel is medium and quite full, very smooth and easy - no tricks to this creation. One fine porter with a bit of a different approach then most, and kudos to that.

Baltika 6 Porter poured with a very large brown foam. The foam smelled and tasted like milk chocolate. The beer was black with no light showing through it. This is the darkest beer I have ever had. There was little carbonation in the beer itself. Taste is definitely a coffee/chocolate/fruit (with fruit being the least). I can even say it reminds me of a dry wine to some point. This is an extremely creamy beer with plenty of body. The aftertaste was VERY slightly bitter, more than half the bitterness as the American beers. The number 6 is definitely worth buying. I don’t think I can compare this beer to any American made dark....but I am a novice, and am new to the dark porters. This is still a great buy.

Single from Three Cellars Milwaukee. Tan full head, nice dark color. Very light and a bit sweet. I found the taste fuller when it wasn’t so cold.

Smells and looks great; nice tan head like a stout. This beer also a sting of bitterness to it - also stoutish. But the sweetness is still definitely there. Excellent beer, best Baltika for sure.

I really can’t think of anything to complain about with this one. It is one of the best porters I’ve had. It was so very pleasant. I like the 7% ABV, and that it gives you a little over a pint. It is a dark, blackish brown with smoothness going down. Mmm, kudos to Baltika.
