Commercial Description:
A traditional dark beer based on old recipes. "Baltika" brews this beer with the best dark and light malts with the addition of superior hop types and a special strain of yeast. Crystal-clear water and the secret touch of "Baltika"'s brewers make this a beer of unsurpassable quality.
The ingredients are water, caramel malt and burnt roasted malt, maltose syrup and hops. 17°

(04.20.06) One pint 0.6 oz brown bottle from Golden Eagle, Libertyville, IL 7% ABV. Poured brown black with medium tan head. Soft carbonation. Roasted malt and prune in the nose. Medium bodied porter that starts with light malt sweetness and burnt malt/coffee/fruity (prune) flavors. Some sharpness in the mouth. Finished with light roast bitterness. A very good flavorful porter.

(Bottle BB 21/12/06) Roasted malty, slightly licorice and very slightly alcoholic aroma. Very dark red colour. Large, light brown, slowly diminishing head with fair lacing. Burned malty, average bitter, licorice and slightly coffee flavour. Medium to full-bodied and softly carbonated palate. An excellent porter! 14/05/06

Pours black with light tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of dark chocolate and molasses with roasted malt. Smooth, very smooth with a well developed flavor. Tastes of malted dark chocolate molasses coffee. Barely discernable alcohol presence. An excellent Porter in my opinion.

Had a sample from FatPhil or SaintMatty, didn’t write down which one, but they were both generous, so ;)
Clear dark red to brownish black color, light brown head. Sweet, raissin, vinous scent. Roasted, vinous taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

1.99 bomber at the rip and run.Pours a very dark brown that has only hints of light thru the tall glass. Dense tan head that settles slowly to a cracker thin layer and stays there. No lacing or webbing. Nose is boozy and hints of malt syrup. 7%??? seems bigger. Body si large and filled with chocolate malt and some licorice root? Secondary booozy tang ringed with hops finishes with a smooth cocoa. A nice Baltic.

My first baltic porter. Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a medium sized tan head that quickly turns into a think ring around the glass. Nose is caramel, and toast. Tastes like chocolate caramel, bread, and malt. Actually a pretty good beer. A nice change up as opposed to a totally roasted tasting porter.

Demi-litre bottle. Poured boot polish black with a thick, fast dissipating head. Little lacing. Full aroma of carames. malt and candy. Medium malty body with medium mouth and a light malty finish. Tastes lower in alcohol than it is.
