Above average light brown frothy head leads into a black body that is impenetrable to light. Coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts are presented in the aroma. Good lacing. Medium body. Oily texture. Nice bitter (roasted malts) finish. If this beer was expensive I would probably be a little harder on it, but $1.99 is a steal. Who knew anything so tasty, other than vodka, would come from Russia. dcotoi (2), USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2009 nutty coffee aroma, light walnut head, taste of burned malt and dark chocolate Overall a satisfying porter. puggy211 (591), cordova, Tennessee, USA

Tight creamy and dark head, stays for ever. Aroma chocolatey. (On another bottle, I got gravy - meat and yeast.) Tastes like a hefty stout, some alcohol due to the 7%, full maltiness, not oppressingly burnt. As it gets warmer, there will be even bacon in the taste! Well rounded, make this the last 2 beers of the evening... mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
