Nice roasted flavor and body. Big brown head. Could drink a few of these.. snoot (277), Anaheim, California, USA

Aroma is pretty straightforward, there’s malt in there and it’s fairly sweet. Flavor is quite nice, a little sweet, but it has some vinous notes and hides it’s alcohol (lower, granted) better than Okocim. Very enjoyable. Kasteelfreak (341), Fallbrook, California, USA

Taste is milky sweet with sharp roasted espresso, chocolate bitterness. Coca cola flavors are there as well. For the price, it’s a very good beer dyetube (419), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 11, 2005 This beer is very dark almost black in color with little to no head. it has a roasty chocolaty flavor with very little hop taste. this beer is very mild and quite drinkable! I liked this beer and is one of the better porters out there. cheers! Brigadier (1257), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

While on a run to get something for a trade this caught my eye. Figuring the worst case scenario was that it was a drainpour I took a risk on the $1.79 bottle. It turned out to be one of the better values that I have found. On par with many of the other baltic porters (or imperial porters) in the world it is also the cheapest one. This will make it a great standby for those times when I don’t want to open anything rare.
Aroma / Appearance - The deep black body swirled fluidly around the snifter leaving a khaki colored head in its wake. Licorice, peanut brittle and flat Cherry Coke merge into a sweet smelling blend that reminds me of vending machine chocolate in a smoky bowling alley.
Flavor / Palate - Blackberries and plums hit the tongue almost immediately. After settling they become licorice, chocolate chip cookies and ash. The finish reverts to licorice before slowly fading away on the back of the throat. Everything is reasonably balanced and very fluid. This is one of the best ’cheap’ beers that I have tried. Since the risk is so low why not give it a shot? kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2006 Updated: Nov 10, 200612 OZ bottle via RegallacMC(thanks!). Pours a dark brown almost black with an average size tan head. The aroma is of mocha, toffee, band-aid and vanilla. Taste is of fruity esters-plums, cherries, cantelop, nuts as well as some burnt chocolate and caramel malts. Like many Baltics, this reminds me of a good dopplebock. If there is a Baltic porter that is ’the measuring stick’ for the style this is it..or is it? Seems nobody really know..but i think this is close.... Maybe not the tastiest of them all to my tastebuds, but the baraometer perhaps? Rynoplasty (546), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Aroma is really malty, with caramel, dark and pale malts coming through. Taste is also very malty and dark, with a little warming from the alcohol ( a little more than I would expect for 7%). Overall this is a pretty good baltic porter, and it was only 1.99 for the bottle.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2007 From bottle- poured black as midnight with a thick bubbly head, aroma of darken roasted malts, chocolate, and a hint of sugar. Very nice light brown lacing head. Hits the mouth with a thick heavy malt, many notes of roastedness, coffee, toffee. Finish is lacking for a strong porter, but the alcohol is very well hidden. Beerpagners run from it, but everyone should love this. Aside from the #4, one of their best products.
