| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 5, 2003 EXTREMELY dry roasted grain throughout every ounce of this beer. Somehow this tastes like Russia. I can almost feel the boiling of Chernobyl in my asophogus and the bread lines leading to my belly. Very mouth filling, covers every inch of the palate; however, the finish is a touch thin and the complete lack of anything sweet makes me a touch ancy. Good though. ogivlado (3070), Zagreb, Croatia

Nice chocolate licorice nose. Roasted malt and coffee in aroma with pleasant chocolate and cocoa notes. Also very fruity. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Despite 7.0%ABV flavor is quite watery. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Black, frothy tan head. Nice cola and hop aroma - sweet. Nice taste - good hops, thin body, very sweet. A really nice simple solid Baltic porter. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2005 Pours a clear black (dark ruby when held up to light) with a thick, beige head. Sweet caramel and roastiness in the nose. Pleasantly sweet with a strong presence of caramel then comes notes of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Some roasty, hoppy bitterness shows up in the finish. Alcohol content very well hidden. Medium bodied with a very smooth texture and moderate, fine beaded carbonation - quite appropriate for the style. Enjoyable. BeerRules (237), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2005 Smells malty, sweet, toffee, bit of cocoa powder, molasses. Taste is sweet caramel, roasted, metallic, bit of fruitiness (reminds me of nectarines for some reason). Nice creamy mouthfeel with a lingering sweetness. I like that sweetness, but wish it had a bit more roastiness to it. Nice beer FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA
