Dark brown, mocha head, chocolate aroma, some olive oil in the back end. Thick mouthfeel. Original 3.8 Kind of grows on you - hard to describe in words. Licorice-like aroma and appearance. Meant to be drunk slow and savored. Full-bodied flavor lasts throughout - improves upon warming. Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2003 Nice thick, creamy head from the pour. Head lasts for a while also and leaves some nice lacing. Rich aroma with a slight touch of coffee, toffee and caramel. Color is a beautiful dark, red/black. Flavor is VERY smooth but not very complex. Can easily drink this right down. Flavor is a little weaker than expected but has coffee, roasted malts, raisins and is a little sweet. Finish is slightly bitter with a nice alcohol flavor and warming. The best Baltika product I have had so far. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Taste is sweet caramel, roasted, metallic, bit of fruitiness (reminds me of nectarines for some reason). Nice creamy mouthfeel with a lingering sweetness. I like that sweetness, but wish it had a bit more roastiness to it. Nice beer
