Dark chocolate aroma with a slight roast note, a touch of alcohol and some coffee as it warms. Lots of chocolate flavor and brown sugar. Flavor has some hints of alcohol, pepper, and a slight bit of esters. Medium-full body. Rune (2851), Tromsø, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2007 500ml bottle from a superstore in Арха́нг Russia (thanks to Per-Einar). Pours a body black as pitch under a huge brownish head with lots of bubbles blanketing the glass. Rounded aroma of dark malts. Quite well made brew with malty keenness and roasted barley. Some hints of anise and chocolate break through in a long flavoured tail. Good and lasting mouthfeel (23.03.2007). ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a thin, beige head.
Smell: Sweetish aroma of molasses, a bit of roast, and a cup of simple syrup.
Taste: Dark malts with a taste of molasses with a bit more sugar added. Some roastiness. Never much in the way of hops or bitterness. Just a touch of astringency in the lightly roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Not the best baltic porter I’ve gulped down, but, for me, it was definitely the best stop on the trip through Baltika Land. after4ever (2828), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2006 ,5L. Pours dark brown with a massive, diminishing tan head. Super-chocolatey nose, with some dust. High-carb medium body (a little fizzy, actually, but it’s come a long way). Chocolatey, roasty, biscuity palate with a very mild floral hop finish--almost free of bitter by pacific northwest standards. Very delicious drinkable beer. timtheenchanta (70), Clemson, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 A shade or two from completely black. Light rays of red shine through as it’s held up to the light. Large tan fluffy head doesn’t hang around for too long but leaves thicky fluffy lacing down the glass.
Very sweet smell. Pretty basic porter smell... some rich sweet caramel and chocolately goodness.
Almost over-the-top sweet taste. Pretty much the same as the smell. There’s a slight metallic taste in the finish though. It’s not terrific but certainly not bad. This is an enjoyable beer. dchmela (1458), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2008 Pours a deep reddish black with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma is bready and biscuity, very chewy. Taste is completely different, very malty sweet, roasted grains, chocolate, and dark fruit sweetness. Much thicker body than I thought it would be. Finishes with a touch of malty sweetness, fruit. Really nice, but the aroma was my only problem. mar (1945), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Bottle thanks to beastiefan2k. Pours black with a thick and foamy head that goes down slowly. The aroma is roasted malts and some sweet brown sugar. The taste is pretty good; sweet molasses and brown sugar, some roasted malts, and a nice alcohol burn. For 7% this is really quite warm. Overall, I liked it. It is a smooth and sweet porter.
