Aroma is bready and biscuity, very chewy. Taste is completely different, very malty sweet, roasted grains, chocolate, and dark fruit sweetness. Much thicker body than I thought it would be. Finishes with a touch of malty sweetness, fruit. Really nice, but the aroma was my only problem. mar (1936), Dallas, Texas, USA

The aroma is roasted malts and some sweet brown sugar. The taste is pretty good; sweet molasses and brown sugar, some roasted malts, and a nice alcohol burn. For 7% this is really quite warm. Overall, I liked it. It is a smooth and sweet porter. SaintMatty (1236), Tallinn, Estonia

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2009 Bottle. Poured a dark red/brown, but so dark it looks black. A good looking beige head. Aroma is nicely complex, with notes of caramel, smoke, coffee and chocolate. The taste had nicotine, dirt, earth, wood, chocolate and coffee grounds. The mouth was fizzy. blutt59 (2152), Dallas, Texas, USA

Pitch black. Tall, fine, thick head. Not a strong aroma. Roasted malt, maybe a bit sweet but seems dry. Strong malt flavor. Very well roasted, very burnt. Quite sweet, with strong coffee taste. A bit too sweet for me, but loaded with flavor. Long-lasting burnt aftertaste, dry in the finish. Great malt taste.
