| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Really unique. Pours a thick black/brown. STRONG caramel, maltey nose, mostly caramel. Brown thick head. Sweet syrup, caramel, mollases flavor. You can definately taste the alcohol but not so much as to be off putting. Was surprised with this one considering how little I liked their ale. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2006 1 Pt. 9 oz. bottle. Poured black with dark red brown edges and an average size, mostly lasting creamy tan head. Aromas are heavy malt: coffee, cola, molasses, chocolate covered Turkish delight, and some faint alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, but never harshly so. Some notes of amaretto as the glass warms. Average carbonation, medium body, clean mouthfeel. Has many charcteristics of the imperial porter, but not as top heavy, and thus I find it more enjoyable. A pleasant surprise.
