Complex malty aroma, semi grainy, some alcohol, touch of chocolate and soap? A rich yet clean flavor profile. Resembles a schwarzbier for me. Kind of lager like, but very complex. Lighter than expected body. Low carbonatin. Good. zhora (4), Kyiv, Ukraine does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2006 Excellent porter with brilliant aftertaste. Be sure to buy one that bottled in St. Petersburg. Some light coffee notes, and a mellow alcohol aspect that tickles my nose. Dark fruits notably currents come through too.
Very deep ruby red highlights and brilliant clarity makes this brew pleasing to the eye. A decent level of roast here, along with the warming of the alcohol and a curious tea like hop character that is also noted. The finish is malty/roasty sweet in the flavor. Light-medium in body another smooth drinker. This one I would have to classify as a session Baltic Porter

I buy this beer over and over again. I do agree that this is a full beer and might be a little heavy for mowing the lawn; however, this will undoubtedly keep you warm through the winter. I get a black, very full body, with a toasty, malty, chocolaty, tastes. A definite malt character that is reminiscent of "Whoppers" chocolate malt balls. A lightly sweet beer with little hop aroma and medium bitterness back end. The alcohol is there (7%) but not too forward. DRINK IT! armando629 (1018), Budapest, Hungary

Dark brown body with a small creamy, delicious beige-light brown head. Aroma of coffe, caramel, dark fruits. Smooth mouthfeel, complex flavor with chocolate, roasted malt, coffe, some caramel. Pleasant aftertaste of roasted malt and coffe. Tasty, like it. VitaminR (446), Colorado, USA

Dark caramel sweetness, alcohol cuts nicely...has good balanced bitterness. Roasted malt is just right not too overwhelming. Almost like a lighter Imperial Stout--which makes sense...First try of this style, very impressed... tombb25 (3), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Just a really nice porter, can’t say enough good things about what Baltika is doing for Russian beer, great product, nice color, great nose and a very smooth finish, not a really big porter, very easy drinking, great roasted malts and caramel. Great balance for a porter, enjoy with a cigar and an beer magazine on your porch.
