Raistlin (13), London, Ontario, Canada Nov 7, 2009 Bottle. Very pale yellow color, almost no head. Aroma is malts and grassy. Scent however was terrible. While the beer tasted pretty decent, it smelled of staleness and lingered around the beer forever. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Oct 27, 2009 Medium white lasting head. Pale yellow body. Clean mealy malt aroma. Dryish-sweetish mealy malty taste with faint fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, fatty mouthfeel. Dryish papery grape aftertaste. Decent, but unremarkable. (0.33l draft, Café Ket, St. Petersburg, Russia.) JesseM (660), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Oct 25, 2009 500mL green bottle from an LCBO gift pack. Pours a pale yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is skunky and of plastic, but with a hint of actual hops and pale malts. Flavour is corny with a bitter bite at the end that suggests hops, as well as some skunk and sulfer. Really nothing too bad all things considered. Mouth-feel is quite light but biting and lively. I guess that marshy Neva Petersburg water they must be using makes decent beer, as this brewery continues to be not-that-bad to me for a macro. joe19612 (673), camberley, Surrey, England Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Poured a golden yellow colour with a thin white head. Slightly grassy aroma mixed with malt. Tastes of bread with a bitter aftertaste. Better than I thought it would be, still not that great.
ha1ag (415), Maastricht, Netherlands Oct 18, 2009 Bottled from a Russian store in Aachen. Very pale yellow color, almost no head. Aroma is malts and grassy. Flavour is the same, where are the hops ? MrBunn (1520), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 15, 2009 Bottle with a funky little lift off bottle cap. Pours like a crumby eurolager... fizzy gold with a fizzy head and skunky aromas that hit the nose from afar. Closer inspection reveals just how skunky this green bottled gem has traveled across land and sea... it’s pretty pungent. Flavor is a nasty mess of sweet corn syrup malt and vile skunk tail just after spraying the neighbor’s impertinent dog. Nasty sweetness... nasty skunkiness. Uggh... drain??!! gunnar (486), Sandnes, Norway Oct 13, 2009 Bottle.Pours straw coloured with a minimal white head. Weak malkty aroma. Taste isweaker mallts, very light in the hop department. Exciting-Not. Snegurochka (69), Tromsø, Norway Oct 6, 2009 Golden colour. Sweet grain and some malt to the nose. Pleasant that it’s not as sweet tasting as other Russian beers I’ve tried. Easy to drink, and probably the Russian beer I will prefer a hot day sitting on the Dvina Embankment to accompany my shaslyk. Sampeled at the Superpower beer session part i in Tromsø 13.01.09. Thanks to Konstantin for bringing the 500ml can from Archangel.
