| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Funny shaped green bottle with a pulltop cap. I haven’t seen one of these on a can in years and never on a bottle. Smells of sugary hay. Clear yellow, medium snow white head, sudsy adherence to the glass. Typical foreign lager flavor of honey and minimal grain, but not sugar sweet as I feared. Slight tart lemon on the palate. Not skunky at all and only a little too sweet. Clear golden colour with medium-size white head. Aroma is some fruitiness, malts, hints of hoppiness and metallic. Some goes with the flavour. Some fruitiness (can’t say what), malts and crispy hops. I wasn’t expecting much of this, but I’m positively surprized. rauchbier (3002), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Bottle, from Tesco, Grimsby. Pale gold, good lasting fluffy white head and moderate condition. Pleasant malty grain in the nose with a hint of hop fruitiness, soft and malty in the mouth with a suggestion of Germanic hops that remind me of some Franken festbiers, gentle chalky hop notes in the finish but still with lingering sweet graininess.
