Bottle: Light golden brown pour with minimal head. Scent seems a bit off from normal wheat beers. Almost citric scent. Not as bad as expecting. Citric taste with a mix of hops.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Sweet aroma with banana, bubble gum and a light spice. Medium body, smooth, almost flat. Flavor is over ripened banana with a touch of spice. Not bad.

0.5 l bottle. Hazy straw color with thick creamy head, very high carbonation. Wheat, clove, pepper and some banana in the aroma. Wheaty, clovey and tart flavor with dry minerals in the finish. Good aroma, OK flavor, disappointing finish.

Bottle 0.5 l from Tallinn. Beige yellow, cloudy with a relatively small head for a hefe. Nose is strong banana. bubblegum and ripe fruits with a bit of yeast and wheat. Flavor is slightly sour and very wheaty with a touch of spices. I would be damn well fooled, if someone said it’s a german hefe. Very middle-of-the-road-weizen and a good one at it. Well carbonated.

Having had many of the other Baltika offerings in Moscow, I was not expecting such a good effort at a German Hefe from them. Very nice, typical esters for the style, cloudy, good head. Probably a bit over carbonated and slightly drier than I would like for a hefe, but a very drinkable effort comparable to the lower end of the authentic Hefeweizens.

Not all Hefes are the same, this is a case in point. I was pleased with that bubble gum-banana aroma, the look was similar as well with a nice lemonade like cloudy look. The taste was ok, but the banana and bubblegum flavor was not as potent as was in the smell. It’s smooth, but I believe that’s nothing unfamiliar with a Hefe.

Slight aroma and taste of banana, somewhat watery in taste. Nice head and good cloudy appearance, some what disappointing overall.
