Medium head; cloudy, opaque appearance. Slightly too high carbonation, but tastes really good - some lemony and banana notes. Well made; additional 0.1 for being a so well outside Germany-made hefe. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Bottle. Undesirable aroma of wheat, yeast, and that strange Baltika industry. Hazy golden with a sticky white head. Banana joins the wheat and yeast in coming through in the taste, but again, something is off here...a bready/grainy/cobwebby, yes, cobbywebby note. Latent ale fruitiness is nice, the ale characteristics really add a lt here. Medium body, light dry finish. Unusual, but...eh...eh? IHCNavistar (93), Orinda, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Bottle. Distinct cloudiness. Aroma is of hops, wheat, and a delightful helping of bananas. Taste is simply amazing! Slight hops, with the weat dominating! Banana tones, most likely becuase of the massive wheat content, mix wonderfully with the perfect amount of hop flavor. Malt and yeast are somewhat present, but not more noticible that what a Hefeweizen should be. I am not too much of a fan of Baltika’s #6 and #3 beers, but this one is very well done, with rich banana tones eliminating most of the undesirable malt and yeast dominance seen in other popular Hefeweizens. I made the big error of not swirling the yeast off the bottom prior to drinking, but will definitey be buying another bottle to see if it made a significant difference. Probably a repeat buy for me. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2006 A spicy wheat beer. Pours a cloudy, dull gold with a greenish tinge, large frothy white head that slowy shrinks to a sudsy film. Strong aroma of yeast and spice. Similar flavor with a banana aftertaste. Pretty intense taste. Enjoyable, but in my opinion, not good as a session beer. Light, but with a nice full flavor.
