blipp (567), Grand Island, New York, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Sweet aroma with banana, bubble gum and a light spice. Medium body, smooth, almost flat. Flavor is over ripened banana with a touch of spice. Not bad.
Ron (693), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 4, 2008 I felt guilty having a Russian beer on the 4th of July, but I was hot and I wanted a refreshing Hefe. This did not dissapoint. Sparkling cloudy yellow with a medium short-lasting white head. Fruity aroma with yeast and wheat. Flavor is yeast, banana, wheat malt and some lemon. Medium body and a nice mouthfeel. Nice and refreshing.
tangentrider (118), USA Jul 2, 2008 Very pale, cloudy beer with a huge creamy white head. Aroma is sour fruit with some bread. Flavor is malt, a touch of banana, and (maybe) apricot, with a nearly hidden bitterness. Finish is very slightly bitter with a touch of sweetness. Very nice wheat. I’ll have this again. MontereyJimbo (77), Monterey, California, USA Jun 27, 2008 This brewery must have a Bavarian brewmaster because it has captured the spirit of the German hefeweizen very well , but not perfectly. It certainly beats efforts from most other countries. The beer has an excellent blend of esters and is light and refreshing. There is a very slight harshness in the aftertaste though. tarjei (941), Bryne, Norway Jun 22, 2008 0,5 l bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger - shared with Roger. Hazy yellow color, big white head. Aroma is fruity (banana), wheaty with some yeast. Flavor is fruit, spices, wheat and yeast. Refreshing and nice, and it´s a wit for me. theisti (953), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jun 16, 2008 500 ml bottle from Lukas, KCMO. Pour is hazy yellow golden with a fluffy 2 inch white head. Aroma of cloves, banana and candy yeastiness. Some floral perfume present also. Taste has some wheatiness, some of the clove and certainly the banana. It also had a lot of "dirtiness" to the flavor. Not really in an interesting earthy way, more of an industrial dirtiness. This wasn’t terrible I guess, but really wasn’t a very good Hefe.
