I tried this when I went to a specialty liquor store to buy 5 new beers so I could hit 400 ratings and as soon as I walked in the door a guy gave me a cup of this to drink. Not too shabby. Had an almost sweet taste to it. I bought the Baltika porter and I hope it is better than this one. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 17, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy white head. Smooth and mild cornish aroma, not as offensive alcohol dense as I would have expected. Flavour is sweet and somewhat fruity towards artificial though. Mild spiced cornish and light caramel/biscuit malt presence, quite smooth and with alcohol rather well hidden yet present. Few sips are fine, whole bottle (which I by far couldn’t finish) would be cloying due to the building artificial sweetness and alcohol. blutt59 (2172), Dallas, Texas, USA

After opening this monster last night the corn and rice and malt liquor tones made my head swim and not in a good way. This morning I awoke and checked the slug trap that I filled with the remainder of the .5L bottle. 57 slugs in one bowl. the stroh’s only averages 20-25. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 13, 2008 This beer is really not that bad if you can get past the nose, which has some hints of rotting vegetables and diesel fuel. The malt body is somewhat bland and generic, but really has no off flavors, sweet cereal maltiness, kind of grainy with some phenolic fruit notes. armando629 (1012), Budapest, Hungary

The flavor is sweet malt too with some raisins and fruits, very alcoholic. Moderated carbonation. Some bittery finish. mirjukka (705), LOHJA, Finland
